Mirror Gold Wiki

Pokémon Mirror Gold is a doubles-focused QoL and difficulty hack of HeartGold, built using hg-engine. Most Pokémon gens 1-9 are available throughout the game both in the wild and featured in hand-crafted trainer battles. Weaker Pokémon have received buffs to bring power levels in line and balance things across the board. Many QoL features like not needing HMs, Portable PC, Infinite Rare Candy are present with more being added over time.

Item Changes

Held items (except berries) are returned to you at the end of the battle
Cannot use items in trainer battles (held items are fine)
Pokémon Marts contain many new items so be sure to check them out
Nature-changing mints are available throughout the game in Poké Marts
Eviolite prevents regular evolution

System Changes

Optional and toggleable Permadeath mode
Huge field move QoL changes (no longer need to know the HMs, Fly available right away on Flying mons)
Free healing items on visiting a Pokécenter to reduce time spent there
"Lucky" IVs means 30 IVs is the most common value
EV training has been eliminated all Pokémon grant 2 EVs in all stats
EV/IV viewer in the Pokémon stats panel in-game by pressing L or R
Evasion increases are no longer present in the game (though accuracy drops still exist)
Move rebalance - typically reducing RNG elements and equalizing power a bit
Many new moves - thanks to hg-engine
